Black Gram Sundal


Ingredients:

Black Gram ( Karuppu Ulundhu)  - 1 cup soaked overnight

Tempering:

Oil - 1 teaspoon
Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Asafoetids - 1 pinch
Green Chillies - 2 sliced
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon or to taste

Final addition:

Coconut shredded - 2 teaspoon
Lemon Juice - 1/2 teaspoon
Cilantro leaves - 1 spoon finely chopped

Preparation:

Soak Black gram overnight. Pressure cook with less water for 2 whistles. The dal should be soft and not mushy. Drain the water and keep it aside. Prepare the tempering in the a pan and add the Black gram, stir for 2 minutes.  Add the Coconut, lemon juice and cilantro leaves after removing from the flame. Your Black gram sundal is ready! Enjoy!
